50 GREAT MOTORHOME TOURS IN FRANCE, £11.99 each

France is the perfect country to visit in a motorhome, RV or campervan. The roads are often traffic free, there are almost 10,000 campsites and over 4,000 aires, the car parks are mainly free and, unlike in the UK, overnight parking in a motorhome is subject to few restrictions. In addition to the above, France is the most visited tourist destination in the world, with many historic towns and villages, great beaches, picturesque mountain scenery and much more. Two books of Motorhome Tours are available covering Northern & Southern France.

The 50 Great Motorhome Tours in Northern France guide covers the 10 "old" regions of Alsace, Brittany, Burgundy, Centre, Champagne-Ardennes, Franche-Comte, Normandy, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Pays-de-la-Loire and Picardy. This is roughly the area north of a line drawn from La Rochelle in the west to Lons-le-Saunier in the east. Tours range from 1 to 8 days in length.

The 50 Great Motorhome Tours in Southern France guide covers the 8 "old" regions of France; Auvergne & Rhone-Alpes (now one region), Languedoc – Roussillon & Midi-Pyrenees (now called Occitanie), Aquitaine, Limousin & Poitou-Charente (now Nouvelle-Aquitaine) & Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur (PACA). This is roughly the area south of the line drawn from La Rochelle in the west to Lons-le-Saunier in the east. Tours range from 1 to 6 days in length.

The tours have been researched and planned for a motorhome, visiting locations that I hope you will find interesting and picturesque. Unfortunately the majority of campsites in France tend to open only during the summer months, with some of the Municipal campsites only opening in July and August. This would tend to restrict the timing of these tours, so they have primarily been planned using all-year-round aires as stopover places – with alternative campsites suggested, if preferred (and if they are open). As some ‘motorhomers' may never have stayed at an Aire de Services, there is a chapter explaining their facilities and how to use them.

The guidebooks have detailed descriptions of each location visited together with tourist information, route maps, photos, detailed directions & GPS coordinates. Full information is given on each aire visited as well as a review, facilities, prices, opening times as well as alternative nearby campsites. Examples of a tour from each of the two books can be found in the Motorhome Tours page & see below for the indexes of the guides.

The Northern Guide contains over 350 pages, over 200 photos & 50 pages of maps, whilst the Southern Guide contains over 320 pages, over 150 photos & 50 pages of maps. Each book has:

  • Detailed descriptions & Reviews of stopovers

  • Services available & No. of pitches

  • GPS Coordinates & Directions

  • Photos & Location Maps

  • Opening times & Prices

  • 50 Detailed Tours

Royalties from these books go towards the running of

this website & its monthly newsletter

REVIEWS from verified Amazon Customers:

"I've been touring France for 30 years and wish I'd

had a copy of this book back then. Even if you don't

follow the actual tours it ensures you don't miss

important locations when you are in an area. I'm

looking at going back to a few of the areas covered

by the tours just to see the bits I missed."   Bill McKay

"I got the guide some time ago and while

I've not been to France for a couple of

years I found the layout and information

to be invaluable to anyone touring the area

without being first very familiar with it."

    Darrell Monteith

"Lots of great trips by region and different lengths from 3 to 8 days. The routes planned are well thought out and there is lots of information on where the aires are and alternative camp sites if you need them." Liz R.

"Would certainly recommend this book, have done one of the routes in Normandy and have a couple of trips planned this summer".      Roger Tong
