DIRECTIONS:
From SAUMUR take D947 EAST to TURQUANT. Turn RIGHT off D947 into village
& just before CHURCH turn RIGHT to AIRE. Signposted off
D947.

DESCRIPTION: Parking
here is behind the church in this small village close to the Loire River, in a
very nice medium sized parking area with trees giving some shade. There are some
little shops (Boulangerie, Epicerie, Tabac & Newsagent) in the village -
about 50m distant. An Artisanal service point with drainage platform, &
rubbish bins. Small play area adjacent.
REVIEW
2006 Very good Aire, this one -- plenty of walks around this Troglodyte
village & cycle rides thru the vineyards. Museum of 'Pomme Tapee' is
interesting. Grey & black drainage but no separate tap for rinsing, drinking
water is only available via jetons (for 150L of water). These are available from
the local shops or the Mairie; water pressure is very high.
2007 Very well maintained modern Aire in a small gravel car park bordered
by grass verges & trees -- quite quiet as it is well away from the main D947
although it is next to the road into the village (but this wasn't very busy).
Variety of shops in village & eating places nearby.

DIRECTIONS:
Exit A87 @ Jcn 25 & take N160/ D84 to VALANJOU. As you enter town AIRE
is to the LEFT signposted 'PLAISANCE'.
SITE
DESCRIPTION: Nicely
situated next to a small lake & a children's play area, this Aire is
surrounded by farmland, yet is only 300m away from the village. The parking is
on gravel / grass with shade from the surrounding trees. There are also WC's
next to the artisanal service point & drainage platform.
REVIEW
2007
We had no problems finding this comfortable Aire, in a green verdant spot --
lovely & clean, quiet and only 5 mins to the shops. Services were all free,
picnic tables provided.
