LATE FERRY? EARLY FERRY? WHERE TO STAY?

Catching a late ferry over to France & stuck for somewhere to stay or coming back on an early ferry & needing to stay near to the port to avoid a very early start. This is a problem that has happened to me on several occasions & it is often difficult to come up with a suitable compromise -- parking in the ferry terminal car park is not always the best of solutions . . .
